National Ride2School Day Assembly and P&C Meeting

This is just a quick reminder that this Wednesday is National Ride2School Day.  As you’ve seen in our newsletter, we’d love to see as many families as possible walk, ride, skate or scoot to school this Wednesday to celebrate this cause.

Our local member, Mr David Templeman has kindly donated a bike which the P&C have raffled and this Wednesday at 9am we will hold a brief assembly where Mr Templeman will draw the raffle.

The assembly will be held in front of TB1.10 (under the coloured shade near Miss Hughes room) and we encourage parents to stay around after their walk, ride, skate or scoot to attend this assembly.

After this short assembly the Lakelands P&C will be holding their meeting in the conference room if you are interested in joining.

We hope to see you there.

 Jim Bell.

National Ride2School Day 19 March, 2014

Wednesday 19 March is National Ride2School Day. Over 250,000 Australian children will ride and walk to school on this day and everyone is encouraged to have a go!

At Lakelands, we support Active Transport, (riding, walking, scooting or skating) to school and students are encouraged to lock their bike and scooters to the school’s front fence. This is a temporary option until we have bike racks in 2015.

Riding and walking are fun ways to get to school and contribute to your children’s daily physical activity needs. Some live far away or have commitments that make it difficult to ride or walk each day, however taking the bike or walking for part of the way, or on some of the days is still great!

Our local member, David Templeman has supported us by donating a bike for the P&C to raffle. He’ll also be at our school on March 19 to draw the prize! So, be part of the fun, diarise National Ride2School Day and visit
